When we are children, we cannot always tell the difference between fear and kindness. Sometimes, even a gentle smile from a stranger can feel frightening.
One day, a kind cotton candy vendor offered me free cotton candy with a warm smile. But remembering my mother's warnings, I became terrified and ran away crying.
Now that I've grown up, I finally understand the kindness he was trying to give me that day.
This song carries my wish to pass that warmth forward to someone else, just as he once tried to do for me.
