I really love Kyogoku Natsuhiko-sensei, and I wrote these lyrics with the image of the novel "Tetsunezumi no Oru," the fourth work in the Kyogokudo series.
It's a mystery novel set in a Zen temple, and the word "cage" in the title was a keyword, so I expanded on it.
[If you're in the cage, you're safe, but you have no freedom]
[If you go out into the world, you're free, but you might encounter something terrible]
There are times when people become rigid and can only think about one thing. This is even more true when you're cornered.
At times like these, I think the best way to see things from different angles is to meet someone.
The protagonist in the lyrics of "Tsugumi" thought he would spend his whole life in a safe cage, but when he meets a certain person, his heart loosens and he finds out who he really is.
I would be very happy if listening to "Tsugumi" could be an opportunity to encounter a new version of yourself, like a Zen riddle.
Today, I think I'll read "Tetsunezumi no Oru" for the first time in decades!
