This piece was written to be knitted together based on a single motif. The opening melody is not the motif, but is mainly a sequential progression in the third degree, like the counter-melody "h-a-gis-a"; it looks like a three-part form, but it has a second theme like a sonata form, and the middle part is also made from these elements. The opening part of "Amami Lullaby" is quoted in a modified form as a counter-melody to the second theme in a folk tune, and the end of the middle section creates a climax. In the relatively long coda, the tempo is slowed down and a retrospective of the previous sections is performed, but the "real ending" of the opening theme appears at the end. Like "Gesang," I had intended to incorporate this into "Divertimento," but since the piece has a strong independent character, I decided to make it a stand-alone piece. The orchestration is exactly the same as in "Divertimento.
