Centered around SSW's Shohei Fujimori, this gem of an album features a variety of band members active in various scenes and overground sessions.
Recorded over the course of a year at STUDIO DIG ( Japan's Muscle Shoals,) located on a lonely dirt road surrounded by rural scenery.
Sae Teramae, who has been with the band since its inception, announced her departure upon the completion of this album. This first album encapsulates the journey of the early SLOWBASE, which had been active as a male-female duo.
Influenced by US indie folk, acid folk, and bluegrass, the sound features vibrant landscapes depicted from both male and female perspectives. The album includes eight tracks, including a cover of Maki Asakawa.
The recording members include Hirayama Ren on guitar, Uematsu Shoichi on drums and percussion, and Yusuke Kurita (Hedigan's) on piano. Additionally, Kaiki Ohara (suchmos) handled bass, production, and direction for all tracks.
A soundscape that captures the essence of Japanese popular music, featuring a blend of Americana and folk with a dreamy, country vibe reminiscent of BECK. This psychedelic journey interprets Asakawa Maki's "Shonen" in a unique way, weaving together the elements of Japanese lyrics and songcraft.
