Ash Room enters a new frontier with I dub, a sociopolitical dub album that collides 90s hip-hop sampling techniques with the anarchic spirit of dub.

Symbolized by the silhouette of a V-22 Osprey against a gray sky, the album captures the underlying tension and everyday frustrations of modern society, constructed like a sonic scrapbook of disparate samples. Sonically, only the kick and the intentionally unstable, off-kilter basslines maintain a heavy, solid foundation. The rest of the instrumentation (guitars, horns) is deliberately submerged in a continuous haze of deep send-reverb.

By preserving the dissonance and "alienness" of mismatched samples, Ash Room paints a visceral picture of an uncertain reality. With tight, concise track lengths around 4 minutes, I dub is a physical, high-resolution experience designed to capture every gritty texture and precise echo. It rejects the illusion of hiding reality, offering an authentic, unvarnished dub experience.

Ash Room
Tokyo-based electronic artist who debuted at the age of 56. After experiencing the 90s techno scene as a DJ and working in a record shop, he began producing his own music in 2025 at the age of 56. Under the name "Ash Room," he visualizes the silence isolated from the noise of society and the emotions settling within. His style traverses Dub Techno, Glitch, Ambient, and experimental Electronica. Constructed in high-resolution , his sound is a device for "immersion," derived from decades of listening experience and an audiophile's perspective. Electronic music for mature listeners, accompanying the solitude from midnight to dawn.
