The dream of Pattye Kealohalani Wright, Sandii's Hula Master, is to create a traditional essential Hula song album for children. This dream has finally come true with Sandii's Kokua (which means support in Hawaiian). Sandii sings lead vocals on 6 songs and background vocals on all of the songs.
This album is dedicated to the people around the world who love the Hula and to the little Hula dancers. This is not the album for children to dance the Hula, but a must listen album for the people who love Hawaii and Hawaiian culture.
This is a special Hawaiian album filled with Sandii's warmest Aloha and beautiful vocals for children.
Sandii lived in Hawaii during her late teens and most of her 20s. In that period, she sang in clubs and studied hula with Aunty Bella Richards of Kailua. She also met and bonded with Pattye Kealohalani Wright, who later became a Kumu Hula through Aunty Lani Kalama (1990). Sandii has the various, many different musical phases of her recording career. She has recorded as Sandi Ai, Sandy Hohn, Sandii & the Sunsetz, and now as Sandii. Since 1996, her albums have been Hawaiian or Polynesian-theme.
