I wrote this song when I was in my twenties, after looking at the works of Yoshiharu Tsuge, the manga artist I respect the most, and thinking, "I wonder if I can make a song out of this slightly violent, nostalgic landscape." I would be happy if the listeners could imagine a picture of their own shadow wandering a lonely city at night, detached from their real body. Even now, when I look up at the stars in the night sky, I feel an indescribable fear when I imagine that there are so many people living normal lives in such a faraway place.
