Let's dance, let's dance to the sound of a borderless festival.
Nishina Gakubudan's new piece, Ababababa, is inspired by the primal sound used to soothe a baby-a rhythm that exists before words. Influenced by Ryūnosuke Akutagawa's short story of the same name, the piece explores the power of sound itself, reaching into the depths of the human psyche.
The theme of this work is a "borderless festival." It weaves the spirit of celebration that transcends nations and cultures into sound, aiming to create a new sonic homeland where everyone belongs. Primitive percussion, voices, and bodily movements blend together, resonating with a primal sound that awakens deep, instinctive emotions.
Music that resonates between the everyday and the extraordinary-before language ever begins.
Welcome to the festival of sound.
