The Spectrals were formed in London in 1965 by Roy Jarvis, Edward Reed, Julian Cross, Henry Black and Peter Snow.

Beginning as a Mod and Beat group, the band gradually evolved through Psychedelic Pop, Space Psychedelia and increasingly introspective sounds, creating a musical journey that reflected the changing spirit of Britain in the late 1960s.

Roy's fragile voice, Edward's emotional guitar, Julian's dreamlike organ, Henry's thoughtful bass and Peter's powerful drumming shaped a sound that was both elegant and adventurous.

This collection features five of their most celebrated recordings:

Afternoon Tea

Summer Rain

I Can Feel It Coming

She's In Every Street

The Last Summer

A timeless portrait of a band that never stopped evolving.

One of the most treasured discoveries preserved in the SIS Archives.

  • Spectral Institute of Science

Spectral Institute of Science(SIS) Spectral Institute of Science is an independent archival collective dedicated to recovering and publishing lost psychedelic transmissions documented between 1967 and 1972. Operating through recovered magnetic recordings, classified field observations, and spectral anomalies, SIS presents works attributed to multiple observation units including Velvet Bloom, The Spectrals, Moon Flowers, and Colour Syndrome. Founded under Village Styles, the Institute explores the unstable intersection of sound, vibration, perception, and altered states through recovered British and transatlantic psychedelic documents. Research in Sound Vibration Perception Archive access ongoing.
