Family Basik is a band formed in Tokyo, by siblings Yu Kato and Rima Kato in 2007.
They had already written a huge number of songs before they started the band.
They finally completed their amazing first full album.
Their superb pop songs are reminiscent of Van Dyke Parks, Robert Wyatt, High Llamas, Stereolab, Jim O'Rourke, The Sea and Cake, Yo La Tengo and Sufjan Stevens etc..
Family Basik's music consists of beautiful melodies, experimental arrangement, exquisite chorus work and twisted lyrics.
This is the debut of talent in the 2010s.

    Brother sister duo by Yu Kato and Rima Kato. Formed in 2007. In 2014 released the first album "A False Dawn And Posthumous Notoriety" from White Paddy Mountain. Yu Kato started music activities from around his teens and spent two years in London in the 1990s. Rima Kato formed the stroos of the neoaco unit in the late 90's and started music activities. After that she began solo career, released a mini album "Harmless" and cassette works from aotoao, and "Four Songs / Cover Songs" from Helicopter Recrods in Seoul, Korea. In 2015 the first full album "Faintly Lit" was released from flau. credits
