The defenses and avoidance that lie beneath our awareness become shadows,
gradually blurring the image of who we are in the present.

This song portrays the suffering that comes with self-awareness,
the human weakness that compels us to scatter what we cannot bear,
and the passage of time that continues, indifferent to it all.

Sayuri Kusanagi
In 2014, Sayuri Kusanagi won first place in the Solo Division of the National Gospel Koshien competition. She has since appeared on television, performed singing roles for overseas animations, worked as a hotel lounge singer, contributed to recording sessions as a backing vocalist, and served as a vocal coach. In Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa, she was recognized as "the only Japanese artist who can sing in the local language" and received offers to perform with percussionist Oswald Kouame. Together, they appeared in local concerts, television programs, and radio shows. Alongside her solo career, Sayuri launched the duo project inspi+ with guitarist Yoshiro Makimoto. Their genre-defying musical style and her soulful voice continue to captivate a wide audience.
