In this womb
I spun and spun yarn
To get more than one string
More than one string to my bow
In this womb
You hold me on not
To drown in the ocean of strings
In the ocean of 5 strings
Your warmth spread through my body cold
Froze every bones
Can't stand up on my own
Now bind me so tight
To brace my spine till I look fine
And l deeply relieved to be twined
If I
Free me out
From your guard
Free me out
From your arms
Who broke my bow?
Who set my route?
Who took my last breath?
Who kept me from
This dark ocean of
Ocean of strings?
Passing time makes you come undone
But I pretend not to see it unwound
Stretching mesh let the sound of waves in
And it echoes in my ears loud
Something keeps breathing down
My neck to reveal who I am
Someone who has no wound
You know nothing’s here
I know nothing’s here
Pinch me when I fall into the dream
So I won’t go out of the scheme
Hitch me with your string even though it's just seam
Sew my lips not to scream
Tie me up, tie me up
Pull my strings, just tie me up
So I say I can't dive in ocean of strings
Tangled up, tangled up
Act like strongly tangled up
So I won’t notice I’m already

Ocean of Strings
WasaVi
Artwork to those who did not choose freedom
This piece begins with the warm singing of a choir, a New Age music that portrays a somewhat melancholic yet aesthetic world. As indicated by the title, "Strings," the composition of this piece involves strings and thread instruments.
Noteworthy in WasaVi's work is his use of sound to create scenery. In the opening section, where the cello takes the lead; the sound of strings warmly wraps around the listener. This section was created to evoke the image of being protected in the womb, in other words, by the maternal figure. In the following division, the sound of pizzicato portrays the innocence and curiosity of childhood. As the song goes on, it intensifies like the raging sea, immersing the listener in an illusion of being swallowed by rough waves.
As stated at the beginning, this work is written with "freedom" as its theme. Does freedom mean happiness? Do all people need to chase what they want to be? The lyrics portray the anguish hidden within the hopeful word "freedom" in a raw and honest manner; which is a must to hear.
As a concluding note to the introduction of the song; quoted the artist WasaVi himself:
In this world, there are too few words that acknowledge those who have not chosen freedom. There are too few words that allow us to give up on what we want to do. We are already tired of struggling, unable to walk; yet we are still expected to keep fighting.
We want to be released from freedom.
We want to find relief.
We want to forget about the person we want to become.
