Lyric

BORROWED COLOR (feat. Gimmick Drive)

Hoshitarou Akeno&the dark side

Yellow tape around the doorway

Sunday clothes across the chair

Someone changed the combination

Now the numbers lead nowhere

Coffee cooling by the notebook

Tiny circles from the cup

We were good at making plans

We were bad at showing up

Take the long way

Miss the train

Say it once

Then change the name

Borrowed color

On my hands

Nothing ever goes

The way it’s planned

Borrowed color

On the wall

Maybe losing something

Isn’t loss at all

Run it backwards

Let it spin

There’s another place

To begin

Borrowed color

Borrowed color

Wash it off and start again

Blue receipts inside a pocket

Keys that open someone’s room

Tiny scratches on the tabletop

Flowers leaning from a broom

Cars are passing through the crossing

Every driver knows their part

Funny how a simple detour

Can confuse a careful heart

Change the station

Take the stairs

Leave the answer

Anywhere

Borrowed color

On my hands

Nothing ever goes

The way it’s planned

Borrowed color

On the wall

Maybe losing something

Isn’t loss at all

Run it backwards

Let it spin

There’s another place

To begin

Borrowed color

Borrowed color

Wash it off and start again

Green line

White shoes

Wrong street

Good news

One door

Two signs

Bad map

Good time

If the road keeps changing

Let it change

Borrowed color

On my hands

Maybe we were never

Meant to understand

Borrowed color

On the wall

Every little accident

Can rearrange it all

Turn the corner

Count to ten

Find another reason

To begin

Borrowed color

Borrowed color

Paint it differently again

## Gimmick Drive - [Second Gear]

Dry guitars. Low-end noise. A signal coming from somewhere outside the city lights.

Gimmick Drive's second album takes the raw impulse of their debut and pushes it somewhere deeper, darker, and further out.

Sharp guitar riffs.
Heavy bass.
Stripped-down drums.
A voice carrying coldness and heat at the same time.

Written entirely in English, the album moves through the blurred edges of alternative rock, garage, punk, and indie without settling comfortably into any one place.

At times loud and abrasive.
At times strangely quiet.

There is no complete story here.

Only fragments.

Empty roads at night.
Flickering streetlights.
A half-broken amplifier.
Feelings that never found the right words.

Somewhere inside the noise, those fragments connect.

And become a record.

"Japanese girls band" no longer feels like enough of a description.

Gimmick Drive is heading somewhere.

No one knows exactly where yet.

But the engine is already running.
