I wrote "Statice" while I was fighting my illness.
Statice is the birth flower of my birthday, 5/7 (there are various theories).
I set the release date to 5/7/2025 as a new milestone.
I happened to have white statice on display in my room, so I felt I should use that as inspiration for the lyrics.
The language of statice flowers is "unchanging heart."
I wrote this thinking of myself and my mother, who passed away when I was little.
Sometimes it's all you can do to survive one day.
"I've decided to just live for today."
It's okay to repeat that every day.
This is also a song to encourage yourself.
Megumi Hanasaki Since 2021, after becoming ill, words began to overflow from within me and never stopped. I express poetry, words, and sound across various social media platforms. From October 2025, I began a new journey as a Poetry Music Artist, incorporating a form of expression that combines my work as a poet, lyricist, narrator, and essayist. Poetry Music is a rare musical genre that blends lyrics, spoken word, and melody. I feel that the current music release system in Japan tends to overlook the importance of lyrics. As an artist who lives with words, I aim to share their beauty and depth, and to keep reminding people how powerful words can be. am always searching for words that can encourage myself. Along this path, if even one person touches my work and it brings a little color to their life, that would mean the world to me. I'm always grateful. I'm sending you a bouquet of words...
