Lyric

I woke up late on a Monday morning

Missed the bus and lost my keys

The sky was gray, my shoes were soaking

Nothing went the way I dreamed

I saw a kid beside the station

Laughing in the pouring rain

He didn’t care about the weather

And somehow I forgot my pain

Maybe it’s nothing

Maybe it’s small

But little things can change it all

SMILES! SMILES!

Even on the hardest days

SMILES! SMILES!

When the sunshine fades away

We don’t have to be alright

We don’t have to win tonight

Sometimes all we need to find

Is a little smile

Oh-oh-oh!

A little smile!

I know a girl who works till midnight

Always says that she’s okay

She wears a smile for everybody

Then takes it off at the end of the day

I know a man who’s getting older

He lost his dreams along the way

But when his granddaughter calls him

He smiles like he’s seventeen again

Nobody knows

What others hide

Behind the faces passing by

SMILES! SMILES!

Even on the hardest days

SMILES! SMILES!

When the sunshine fades away

We don’t have to be alright

We don’t have to win tonight

Sometimes all we need to find

Is a little smile

Oh-oh-oh!

A little smile!

You don’t have to smile for me

When you’re feeling down

You don’t have to hide your tears

When no one’s around

But if tomorrow brings a reason

To laugh the way you used to do

I hope that little moment

Finds its way to you

One! Two! Three! Four!

SMILES! SMILES!

For the days we made it through

SMILES! SMILES!

For the things we couldn’t do

We can cry and we can fall

We can lose and still stand tall

There’s a thousand little reasons

To keep going on

SMILES! SMILES!

Let the whole world hear this song

SMILES! SMILES!

We’ve been here all along

Every tear and every scar

Every wish upon a star

We’re still here, we’re still alive

And that’s enough tonight

Oh-oh-oh!

A little smile!

Oh-oh-oh!

One more smile!

Tomorrow’s waiting

Somewhere down the road

And maybe we can find

A little smile to take us home
