The Train Home Knows My Name

MarkCafe Tokyo

The platform light is turning blue

A station chime comes drifting through

Faces gather by the line

All of us between two times

I take the seat beside the glass

Office towers slowly pass

Every window, every flame

The train home knows my name

No need to tell it where I've been

The doors close softly, I breathe in

The train home knows my name

Carries every tired thought away

Through the rivers made of light

Through the middle of the night

I don't have to lead the way

I can lean into the frame

The city moves, but I can rest

The train home knows my name

A yellow room above the street

Someone waiting, something sweet

Rain begins in silver lines

Drawing quiet on the signs

The day I planned, the day I knew

Both grow smaller in the view

What I lost and what I gained

Can be passengers the same

No need to solve what still remains

The wheels are singing through the rain

The train home knows my name

Carries every tired thought away

Through the rivers made of light

Through the middle of the night

I don't have to lead the way

I can lean into the frame

The city moves, but I can rest

The train home knows my name

Stop by stop

The noise grows small

Home is not so far at all

The train home knows my name

Carries every tired thought away

Past the rooftops, past the rain

Into something warm again

I don't have to lead the way

I can let the evening change

The city moves, but I can rest

The train home knows my name

The train home knows my name

Morning Finds a Way is the second album in MarkCafe Tokyo's Soundtracks for Better Days series, written, composed and fully produced by MarkCafe Tokyo. Across sixteen songs, it follows one day in Tokyo - from the first train before sunrise through quiet morning streets, a canal-side afternoon, blue hour, rain on the journey home, coffee after closing, a midnight window and a small light carried into tomorrow. MarkCafe Tokyo created the album concept and narrative, wrote and composed the songs, and directed each track's scene, vocal character, tempo, instrumentation, structure and emotional movement. The production also involved comparing multiple versions, requesting revisions and section repairs, selecting the final performances, sequencing all sixteen tracks and conducting the final quality review. AI was used as a supporting production tool, but this is not an untouched collection of automatically generated recordings. The completed album reflects MarkCafe Tokyo's human authorship, detailed creative direction, editing, selection and emotional judgment.
