The "Melody Line" trilogy reaches its grand finale with Melody Line -RED-.

The journey began in March 2024 with Melody Line -BLUE-, followed by -YELLOW- that December. Now, in November 2025, the long-awaited final chapter arrives - completing a creative cycle that unfolded over just one year and eleven months. Behind that remarkable pace lies pure creative energy and emotion.

Based in Koriyama, singer-songwriter sayuta crafts songs like pages from a picture book - delicate yet vivid, where imagination unfolds and stories come alive. Her music invites listeners into a gentle, cinematic world filled with the quiet magic of pop.

Each part of the trilogy carries a unique theme. Speaking of the first album, -BLUE-, she reflects:
"I was inspired by the nostalgic songs that played from my dad's car stereo when I was a kid."
That record brims with affectionate nods to the golden age of pop - a heartfelt homage to the classics.

For the second album, -YELLOW-, she recalls:
"I wanted songs that made people move - something danceable and fun. I also added '80s touches and a modern sound to connect with today's pop scene."
Though different in mood, both works share a deep respect for timeless pop. sayuta reimagines those influences through her own storytelling lens, creating a world distinctly her own.

Having already completed two ambitious works, sayuta faced a new question:
What would define the third and final piece, -RED-?
"The only thing decided at first was the color red," she says. "From there, I imagined deep red - like theater curtains or an old playhouse carpet."
It is an idea so very her: turning a color into a stage where stories unfold.
"Once that image took shape, I naturally wanted to give it a narrative focus. That is part of who I am. The sound came later."

The entire series was produced and arranged by Shungo Kaneto.
He picked up a guitar at ten, drawn into his father's collection - The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire.
"Whenever I am stuck arranging, I listen to The Beatles or Zeppelin. Their mix of curiosity, playfulness, and deep struggle gives me strength."
Kaneto's production blends J-POP's structure with the essence of Western pop - adventurous chords, free modulations, and subtle traces of blues, soul, and funk.
His arrangements balance unpredictability and warmth, keeping listeners engaged.
"I am obsessed with creating moments that hold a listener's attention from the first note to the last."
Every revisit reveals new sonic layers - hidden details that quietly etch themselves into memory.

"Since the theme this time was the red of the theater and storytelling, I wanted more organic, live sounds. The opening track, 'After the Matinee', represents that best."

As Kaneto describes, 'After the Matinee' opens the curtain in sound - graceful strings shimmer between lightness and allure, evoking the rise of the deep crimson drape. It is a stunning prologue to sayuta's pop theater.

As that curtain parts, sayuta's voice trembles in the air. In her small imagined theater, tender words drift like a breeze, brushing softly against your skin.
You wander into a fairytale world, chasing another reality - a parallel world. There, her melodies gently trace the pages of memory.

Across eight songs, Melody Line -RED- paints the color of stories sleeping within every heart. And when the curtain finally falls, your own emotions may quietly awaken once more.
