An EP by drummer Shin Kokawa and Yasutaka Okada (kott), an artist who creates all of his own sound, photography, and video. Across three tracks, Shin Kokawa's organic drumming melts into Yasutaka Okada's deep, meditative soundscapes rooted in cosmic energy, the afterlife, and our connection with the natural world. "kai," "Boukyaku," and "Genkaku to Shinjitsu" unfold like a single film, drawing the listener into the work and opening a deep door within. Yasutaka Okada released the photo book and audio work "inside" on Penguinmarket Records in spring 2025, held the solo exhibition "The Path " at KG+ (a satellite of the KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival) in spring 2026, and performed with French cellist Clément Petit (NØ FØRMAT!) in the official program of the KYOTOPHONIE 2026 music festival, building a singular world across media. He is also Shin Kokawa's bandmate in "kott." The final, 13th release the closing chapter of the "13 Weeks Consecutive Release" series, spanning 13 artists and 39 tracks.

  • SHIN KOKAWA

    In his pursuit of live drum expression, improvisational artist SHIN KOKAWA resonates with Japanese spirituality, including indigenous nature worship and the sublime concepts of Zen. He internalizes a diverse range of genres: free jazz, spiritual jazz, world music, ambient, and hardcore. By infusing the primitive, powerful, and beautiful sounds of his instruments with the raw intuition of the moment, he creates soundscapes that depict the vastness of the universe. Making his major debut as a founding member of the instrumental band jizue (founded in 2006), Kokawa has performed at numerous large-scale festivals in Japan and abroad, including the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. Since embarking on a solo career in 2019, he has released his 1st album 'ANIMA' (2020) and a 2nd album 'touch the sub conscious' (2024), which features collaborations with renowned artists such as Seiichi Yamamoto, Shing02, and Shun Ishiwaka. He is also an active member of the Kyoto-based experimental band kott, with whom he performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2023. In 2026, he launched '13 ARTIST X 3 WORKS,' an ambitious project featuring collaborations with 13 different artists and 39 tracks to be released consecutively every week.

    Yasutaka Okada Performer Born in Kyoto in 1985. contrabass/daxophone/synthesizer/guitar/piano/field recording/etc... Plays all the sounds of his own work. Releases the energy of the universe, the afterlife, synchronicity with ethnic consciousness, and connection with the natural world as sound waves into the world. His expression, which feels like watching a single movie, invites us to a deeper world by closing our eyes and blocking one of our senses. As a member of the band kott, formed by Shin Konokawa, the former drummer of jizue, they released their first album "kott" in 2023 and performed at the FUJIROCK FESTIVAL 2023.
