UTERO, a Tokyo-based trackmaker/SSW, has digitally released her third single "HATE" on December 13. Until now, UTERO has mainly recorded music at home, but this is her first band recording.
Last year, UTERO released her first EP "For you on sleepless nights" featuring Cwondo of No Buses and Parannoul from Korea. Since then, her songs have gained attention within the underground music scene. 2023 marks the start of UTERO's full-fledged project as an artist, and this is her third release this year.
"HATE" is based on the emotion of "anger. In this song, the song spins a tale of frustration at an overcrowded nightlife district, "sadness" at the fact that a friend of mine has become the kind of adult that we used to talk with them about not wanting to be that adult, and "conflict" at the fact that I am nothing more than a trivial person myself.
The song has a rock sound with a sense of speed, like running through entertainment district, and has already become a popular song at live performances.
The recording and mixing engineer is Junya Iwata (Triple Time Studio), who has worked on songs by THE NOVEMBERS, ART-SCHOOL, and syrup16g. Soichiro Nakamura (PEACE MUSIC), who has worked on songs for Yura Yura Teikoku, OGRE YOU ASSHOLE, THE NOVEMBERS, and others, were the mastering engineers.
The recording was participated by Gt. Azusa Suga (AprilBlue), Ba. Yuki Muraoka (AprilBlue), Dr. Yuji Kobiki (WALTZMORE).
This work is scheduled for physical release on cassette tape on December 15, along with the 2nd single "torico" which was released digitally on November 29. Pre-orders are now being accepted at UTERO Official Shop (https://utero-official.myshopify.com).
I hope you will put on this song, turn up the volume, and strut around the entertainment district.
