I still can hear the song of the wind
And I’ve been waiting for it to be mine
There is a shit they call “social pain”
And its cause could be, might be the cure
And I say
We are bleeding for nothing
We are bleeding for nothing
We are bleeding for nothing
We are bleeding for nothing
They’re only here for hope for love
I just don’t think they know what it means
Some dirty cig ends
Stuck in the shoes of my friends
I’ve got no guts to fully pretend
It was a choice you made
Feeling like you were crucified
Bring more fuel to burn you down
And I say
We are bleeding for nothing
We are bleeding for nothing
We are bleeding for nothing
We are bleeding for nothing
We are bleeding for nothing
"But nothing just comes around," they say
And I can speak much louder than your plastic words
But I keep bleeding, bleeding
Nah, we are bleeding

Modern Jazz War to Release Debut Single "Bleeding for Nothing" on September 11
Tokyo-based post-punk band Modern Jazz War (MJW) will release their debut single "Bleeding for Nothing" on Wednesday, September 11, available worldwide via digital streaming platforms.
Led by photographer and visual artist Michi Nakano, MJW centers its concept on giving voice to "things usually deemed peripheral." This ethos emerges in their dissonant tunings, noise textures, and deliberate sonic "misalignments" that embrace imperfection as an artistic stance.
The track was recorded live in one take without a click track, capturing all instruments simultaneously. By prioritizing improvisation, the band challenges the very idea of "polished harmony." Silence, reverb, and even microscopic noises - sounds never meant to be foregrounded - are absorbed into the music as provocative questions.
In this track, the repeated refrain "We are bleeding for nothing" critiques a modern society where pain is easily shared, consumed, and commodified. Against the backdrop of conformity to a curated "correctness," MJW delivers a mid-tempo anthem that ridicules the futility of such collective self-erosion.
"Bleeding for Nothing" precedes the release of the band's first EP Holes in Modernity, slated for September. The single was recorded and mixed by Kensei Ogata and mastered by Katie Lau, an audio engineer known for her work with Japanese Breakfast and Blondshell. On the same day, MJW will also release a noise/ambient EP, accompanied by a planned release party.

About Modern Jazz War
Modern Jazz War consists of four members with distinct creative backgrounds:
Michi (Vo/Gt) - photographer and filmmaker
Rio (Gt) - guitarist/vocalist for the band Bbugs
Ryoga (Ba) - composer and producer
Takuya (Dr) - filmmaker and director
Modern Jazz War takes its name from Michi's joke that jazz improvisation often feels like a showdown - musicians stacking solos on top of one another - much like the flex battles that unfold on social media today. Their guiding phrase, "Modern feelings, Jazz intentions," reflects their aim to confront contemporary dissonances and frustrations through raw, spontaneous expression.
