Our new ambient work is a journey that blurs the boundaries of consciousness.
Inspired by the constant hum of airplanes inside a room, the drones and noise invite listeners on a "spiritual drift," pursuing an experience where sound carries the soul away to an unknown place.
The track begins in the bustle of Shibuya, travels through environmental sounds from around the world, and returns to Shibuya once again. This is not a physical journey, but an exploration of the inner self.
This work resonates deeply with our simultaneously released EP, 'Holes in Modernity.' At its core is a distinctly Japanese sensibility toward "Ma" (negative space) and "Yuragi" (a delicate sense of fluctuation). It's an attempt to explore the strength of sound simply existing, beyond meaning, by resonating with its environment.
Modern Jazz War is not merely a project for making music to be listened to. It's an acoustic structure designed for experiencing thought, a device that quietly questions established notions of correctness and comfort. Our aim is structural critique, meditation, and the sensation of touching the lingering silence that remains even after the sound has faded.
