"Damejanai kara" is a song about embracing the unfinished parts of yourself - the parts that shake when you compare yourself to others or feel jealousy or inferiority.
Admiration and love don't always come in clean, beautiful shapes.
Sometimes they expose the sides of us we wish we could hide - the parts we call weak or embarrassing.
But when we learn to hold those pieces gently instead of fixing them,
we begin to create a place where we can truly stand as "ourselves."
This song is not about becoming perfect,
but about returning kindness to the self you keep fighting with.
Even if you're still comparing, still envying, still trembling - you are not "wrong."
May this song walk beside you as you move forward, one soft step at a time.
Just as music became my place to belong, I want my songs to become a place for someone else. I am Misaki Akizuki, a singer-songwriter performing with just an acoustic guitar. Through songs that embrace weakness and inner conflict as they are, and a style of performance that stays close to those emotions, listeners have described my music as "unforgettable" and "something that redefines what acoustic performance can be." I began writing songs in 2015 and have since performed across Japan. A street performance video in Osaka has surpassed 550,000 views on YouTube, and in 2019, I successfully held a solo concert that sold out with 50 attendees. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, I continued my activities, being selected in the THE FIRST TAKE audition and the TAKASAKI MUSIC FESTIVAL 2026 organized by TAGO STUDIO, and I keep challenging myself. I want to prove, through my music, that it is possible to keep moving forward while carrying pain and uncertainty.
