This song is about the contrast between what a struggling person shows on the outside, compared to what they experience inside. On the outside, they may smile and laugh in order to hide the pain that they are experiencing on the inside. On the inside though, they cannot push away the chaos that is happening inside their heads. The smooth jazz sections of the song represent what people see on the outside, while the rock section in the middle depicts the internal chaos. The music video for this song tells the story of such a person.

Artist Profile

Although I am a Tamil, I was born and brought up in Japan, and still live in Japan today. Having gone to an international school throughout my childhood, I had a wide array of musical inspirations - the Carnatic music and Indian film music from home, the choral/band/classical/jazz compositions I performed at various groups at school, the pop music that my friends would recommend, plus much more. My music reflects these diverse influences, ranging genres like Carnatic, orchestral, funk, sufi, among many others. Through my album Life Until 23 and my single Vaanmugil, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of India and the world's finest artists, including Chinmayi, Mohini Dey, Patrick Bartley, and Shashaa Tirupati just to name a few. I have also been able to collaborate with ensembles like the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, and The Indian Choral Ensemble. I am also a music analyst and podcaster, creating videos, podcasts, and articles for my music-centered media platform called "The Indoencers". My work on this platform has been publicly recognized by the likes of AR Rahman, Shreya Ghoshal, and Santhosh Narayanan.
