maco marets, who is celebrating his 6th anniversary this year, has released a new song "Spring Journal", the fourth in his series of singles. The song, which expresses the feeling of a still chilly spring, is a "spring song" in the style of maco mares, with his signature laid-back rap over a light acoustic guitar loop. The track was produced by Taisuke Miyata, who is active as a guitarist in bands such as Mellow Yellow Banana Moon ("Mellow") and South Penguin. The bassist is Yurika Iwai, also a member of Mellow, and the chorus is sung by singer Buoy.
Born in Fukuoka in 1995, he is a rapper and poet currently based in Tokyo. He made his CD debut in 2016 with his first album, "Orang.Pendek". In 2018, he launched his self-run label "Woodlands Circle" and has consistently released works up to his latest album, "Wild", his eighth release. In recent years, he has gained attention through diverse activities including the theme song "Howl" for NHK E TV's "Z no Sentaku" program, collaborations with various artists such as Fujiwara Sakura, Buoy, Maika Loubté, and Shin Sakiura, publishing the poetry collection "Lepido and Dendron", exhibiting/selling at art book events, and writing serialized columns for media outlets.
