Intermission of the Warmer is a mid tempo city pop track that portrays a winter night in which a woman senses the quiet cooling of a lover and, instead of asking why, warms her own feet by herself.
A kettle whistling in a Sangenjaya kitchen, steam poured into the mouth of a hot water bottle, a cap screwed tight, a black telephone that stays silent, and in the morning a metal shell gone iron cold create a quiet winter scene where the warmth of a single night has already slipped away.

Performed by the fictional AI singer Akemi, the song captures the emotions of adulthood that notices the falling temperature yet refuses to cling by asking what is wrong, choosing instead to accept the change and heat the water again with her own hands.
Inspired by the late 1970s to early 1980s Japanese new music and city pop, the track reimagines that era urban lyricism through images of winter nights, late telephone calls, and the temperature that drifts between two people.

In the morning she loosens the cap, lets the cold water drain away, and sets the kettle back on the flame.
Swallowing the words that would ask what has changed, she warms the cold winter floor for one person only, for the length of a single intermission.
