Synopsis
Shinju Futatsuharaobi (Two Double Suicide Belts)
Author: Kikaine

This story is based on the double suicide of a greengrocer and his wife. Despite already being married, the couple decide to commit suicide due to their relationship with their mother-in-law. Hanbei is the greengrocer's adopted son.
His wife, O-Chiyo, feels a little uncomfortable because this is her third marriage. Perhaps she is not happy with O-Chiyo's circumstances. While Hanbei is away, his mother-in-law sends the pregnant O-Chiyo back to her parents' home.
Just then, Hanbei returns home. Hanbei, who was determined to spend the rest of his life with O-Chiyo, takes his wife home with him, but his mother-in-law criticizes her son for being an unfilial son.
