REGA Returns as a Three-Piece with Their First Album in Eight Years
REGA is finally back - now redefined as a three-piece band. Their long-awaited new album captures everything that makes REGA unique: a solid, raw, and deeply "live" sound. Stripping their music down to its purest elements, the band refined their performance through live shows in the last two years after hiatus, shaping each song until it was ready for release.
Already hailed as a standout in their live sets, Track 8 "Secret Notebook" unfolds like a cinematic tale told through sound - a sweeping and emotional piece that showcases REGA's dynamic storytelling. Likewise, Track 9 "Lightyards" has long been a fan favorite at live shows, drawing in audiences with its irresistible melodies and energy, making its studio release highly anticipated.
Marking a new chapter for the band, Track 6 "MONOLITH" features a guest appearance by the renowned rapper Candle, known for his collaborations with SHINGO2 and EVISBEATS. Meanwhile, Track 2 "HOP" and Track 5 "6 Fingers" deliver REGA's signature groove - driving riffs and danceable rhythms that pull listeners in and won't let go.

"Rega" is a Japanese instrumental band which consists of 4 members originally : guitarist Ryuji Ide, bassist Akinobu Aoki, drummer Takafumi Miyake and guitarist Akira Yotsumoto. However, as of 2023, Akira left the band and now they play as a 3-piece band. They hail from Ehime, a south-western part of Japan, and carry on their activities now in Tokyo. Their live performance which expresses rush of their emotions is overwhelming and gains high reputation from audience, industry parties and artists throughout the world. Their music is created out of their each music background such as alternative rock, progressive, funk, post rock, organic groove, punk, jazz, techno, electronica and so on, and their soulful music surpasses such genre. While their songs are composed thoroughly, precisely and carefully, they cast human warmth with the pleasant melody. Their emotional live performance has been drawing attention and have performed at many prominent festivals such as Fuji Rock Festival, TAICO CLUB, RUSHBALL, StarFes, BAYCAMP, SYNCHRONICITY, Asagiri JAM, DIESEL XXX and so on.
