SHURA: CHRONICLES OF REVOLUTION
SAMURAI BASSIST | NEW ALBUM
An era of revolution. A clash of beliefs. The unbreakable spirit of the samurai.
In the final days of Japan's samurai era, warriors fought for their beliefs, their honor, and the future of their nation.
Some fought to change the world. Others fought to protect the world they knew. On both sides of the conflict, countless lives were shaped by loyalty, sacrifice, and tragedy.
SHURA: CHRONICLES OF REVOLUTION is a powerful instrumental Japanese metal album by SAMURAI BASSIST, inspired by the turbulent final years of the Tokugawa shogunate and the Meiji Restoration.
Driven by thunderous 7-string electric bass, explosive slap techniques, intricate tapping, expressive slides, and glissandos, the album fuses the intensity of HEAVY METAL with the technical sophistication of FUSION.
Traditional Japanese instruments, including shamisen, shakuhachi, koto, and taiko drums, bring the spirit of ancient Japan into a modern, powerful sonic landscape.
Inspired by historical figures such as Kogoro Katsura, Shinsaku Takasugi, and Gensai Kawakami, each composition tells a story of courage, conflict, and unwavering conviction.
Every warrior had a cause. Every blade carried a story.
Beyond victory and defeat, this album honors the souls of those who lived and fought through an era of extraordinary change.
SAMURAI BASSIST presents a new chapter of Japanese instrumental metal.
The spirit of the samurai lives on through music.
