Carrying Dreams in the Juni-Hitoe (Carnival of Flowers and Smiles)
Hidetaka Shimizu, Gyutora
[ Shall we dance!]
Shall we dance, Together!

Across a thousand years, a tale of grace and tradition is reborn in sound. Inspired by the Saiku Festival of Meiwa Town in Mie Prefecture, "Carrying Dreams in the Juni-Hitoe" is a musical tribute to the elegance of the ancient Japanese court attire, the juni-hitoe, and the poetic soul of the Saio princesses who once lived there.
With imagery that flows through spring blossoms, summer fields, autumn moons, and winter winds, this gentle yet vibrant song invites listeners to step into the sacred forest of Saiku, where time itself seems to pause.
"Smiling softly for a thousand years"-
The song's refrain speaks to a timeless spirit of joy and connection. Bridging the past and present, its graceful melody offers a journey through memory, tradition, and dream.
As the new symbolic anthem of the Saiku Festival, let this song carry your heart to another time.
Artist Profile
Hidetaka Shimizu
During his junior high school years, he was exposed to the guitar boom, and since his house was located right in front of the school, many guitar boys gathered there, and influenced by them, he started playing the guitar himself. He tried his hand at Simon & Garfunkel songs and played "Condor is Flying Away" with a friend in his third year of junior high school. During a school trip in his second year of high school, he wrote his first lyrics, which became his first step toward music. In college, he played in a band, wrote original songs, and played both vocals and guitar. He also played keyboards in some arrangements. There was a period of time after that when he gave up his passion for music, but at the age of 27, he resumed his musical activities again. Even now, new melodies and lyrics continue to be born in his head.
