Wearing a yukata, I walk along the approach to the shrine, lulled by the night breeze.
"Yukata Mairi" is a special prayer song written for the "Thousand People in Yukata" event held every year on August 1 at the Geku Shrine in Ise.
Praying for a bountiful harvest and good health, stepping away from daily life to relax the mind for a moment. This song was co-created by Shuichi Shimizu and Gyutora, harmonizing with the summer tradition that Ise City takes pride in.
The moonlit approach, the sound of footsteps on gravel, the breeze from the fan in your hand. May this one night, this one melody, become a cherished memory of your summer.
During his junior high school years, he was exposed to the guitar boom, and since his house was located right in front of the school, many guitar boys gathered there, and influenced by them, he started playing the guitar himself. He tried his hand at Simon & Garfunkel songs and played "Condor is Flying Away" with a friend in his third year of junior high school. During a school trip in his second year of high school, he wrote his first lyrics, which became his first step toward music. In college, he played in a band, wrote original songs, and played both vocals and guitar. He also played keyboards in some arrangements. There was a period of time after that when he gave up his passion for music, but at the age of 27, he resumed his musical activities again. Even now, new melodies and lyrics continue to be born in his head.
