YOWAME exists at the intersection of confession and comedy, turning real questions submitted to the YouTube channel "Bandman Shika Shiranai Sekai" into rapid-fire rap tracks that read like dispatches from the trenches of the underground music scene. The June 2026 issue collects thirteen of these dispatches into a single document of what it actually costs, financially and spiritually, to be in a band right now.
Across the record, YOWAME breaks down guarantee fees and unequal pay structures, wrestles with AI-generated music eating into the mythology of talent, dissects the gap between digital hype and the brutal arithmetic of physical ticket sales, and admits in plain language how hard it is to find bandmates who share more than just chops. There's no posturing here, no manufactured cool. The wordplay is dense and self-aware, stacking English slang against Kansai-tinged street Japanese, but underneath the jokes about instant noodles and convenience-store snacks sits a genuinely anxious, genuinely hopeful artist trying to survive an industry that keeps changing the rules.
What makes this collection compelling isn't technical polish, it's honesty delivered at speed. Each track functions almost like a diary entry set to a beat, unfiltered and specific in a way most music refuses to be. If you've ever wondered what musicians actually think about money, AI, scenes, and each other, this is the answer key.

Artist Profile

  • YOWAME

YOWAME is a rap duo that transforms questions sent to the YouTube channel The World Only Bandmen Know into original tracks. They have set an ambitious goal of releasing 150 songs a year, which means dropping a full-length album every single month. They are a completely fresh alternative rap outfit that drags the inconvenient truths of the music industry and the raw, gritty reality of bandmen daily life and finances, secrets long buried by both the Japanese indie and major scenes, right out into the open with sharp, cutting raps and highly addictive riffs. Armed with the lyrical prowess of Takuro (Vo, Rap), whose storytelling talent is so profound his novel was adapted into a movie, and the sonic craft of soundtrack composer 812 (Track Maker), the duo keeps up the fight on their main battleground, YouTube, dropping content every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
