"True North"
One line becomes a road.
One road becomes a person.
"True North" is the English adaptation of "Massugu (Straight)", a song born from Kneeking Records' Dictionary Journey series.
Rather than translating the Japanese word massugu literally, the title embraces the English expression True North-a phrase that represents one's inner compass, guiding principles, and unwavering values.
Life is filled with uncertainty, detours, and moments of doubt.
Yet we can always choose to return to the direction we truly believe in, without deceiving ourselves.
That is the spirit of "straightness" this song seeks to express.
"It's easy to bend. To stay straight is sacred."
This philosophy was first introduced in "Poco a Poco," a song inspired by the Dictionary Journey through Kojien, and continues here in a new form.
May "True North" inspire listeners around the world to rediscover the direction of their own inner compass.
