MEGA X

MEGA X, a four-piece band formed in 2021 but already attracting attention from key figures in Tokyo's punk/indie scene, has released its first album on KiliKiliVilla.
Tokyo-based band MEGA X is a sonic pop band with a sound influenced by US indie and lo-fi punk from the 90s to the present, and strong yet sweet and sour harmonies between a female and two male vocalists. Guitar vocals, bass vocals, guitar, and drums. The four members have packed their favorite things into this tactile album, and the influences of WEEZER, The Muffs, Mates of state, WAVVES, BestCoast, Fastbacks, SHEER MAG, SUPERCHUNK, and more can be felt in every corner of the performance and the entire album. The all-time good melodies throughout the album are captivating.
The lyrics are in both English and Japanese, and the themes of the songs are about alienation, not being able to do things the same way as everyone else, and escaping to blue memories that have passed by, and other themes that accompany the depression of daily life.
