Well, I'm diggin' in the crates like O.C
And we gotta learn from the greats like OG, you know me
Back in the days when the cadence was amazing
Now money, pussy, fame instead of a good tape
If Big and Pac were still in this motherfuckin' game
How many fake thugs are gonna fade away?
Things done changed and rap's got a bad name
I hate to see 'em hit a stain for cocaine
Drugs and guns get us stuck in the slums
Shit is rough and tough, but we never get enough
When I'm hustling, they be busting guns for nothing
Youngins still struggling and suffering for something
Tryna stay alive, but crime is on the rise
Do they fight to live or live to fight?
I gotta survive
We all gonna die, but everybody wanna shine
Open my book of rhymes again tonight
They say, "The higher you go, the harder you fall"
I keep climbing on my own even if I die alone
They never knew the view from the top cuz they stopped
Dropping hot shit like drones is all I know
They say, "The higher you go, the harder you fall"
I keep climbing on my own even if I die alone
They never knew the view from the top cuz they stopped
Dropping hot shit like drones is all I know
I'm driven by my villains on a mission
Trying to make a couple million and it's for my vision
Now they all know that I'm writing the blueprint like Jay-Z
Everywhere they go, my footprints are what they see
It's hard to follow cuz my motto is "For Tomorrow"
While they get the bottles and fuckin' with the models
I be working as the fire is burning inside me
You better do the right thing like Spike Lee
So we gotta stay up, this life ain't as easy as a layup
No matter what may come, fuck it, I'm all the way up
Always being straight up
Bitches better wake up
You never truly get away with a lie that you make up
This shit is so real, but you always on the bullshit
You can try to steal, but my verse is a full clip
I fiend for the mic like crack cocaine
Holding it so tight in this rap again
They say, "The higher you go, the harder you fall"
I keep climbing on my own even if I die alone
They never knew the view from the top cuz they stopped
Dropping hot shit like drones is all I know
I came so far, it was hard, didn't know how to start
Was it smart to follow my heart for my art?
It doesn't matter what answers I get
To write the real chapters I couldn't half step
The pages that I write are my life and I rep
Someday you'll find how soon it could end
So I paint a bigger picture for my baby in the future
Hoping one day he'll dream like Martin Luther
But if you dream in your sleep, it'll never come true
And if you laying in the sheets, no one speaks for you
Every choice you make always makes your voice
The only thing you need to get rid of the noise
Sleepless nights, I know the reasons why
I be staying on my grind and it's always on my mind
The demon in the mirror, sometimes he whispers
"Who you trying to be? Now you look like me"
They say, "The higher you go, the harder you fall"
I keep climbing on my own even if I die alone
They never knew the view from the top cuz they stopped
Dropping hot shit like drones is all I know
They say, "The higher you go, the harder you fall"
I keep climbing on my own even if I die alone
They never knew the view from the top cuz they stopped
Dropping hot shit like drones is all I know
