I found myself writing this song while wondering, "Is a real, happy song like this even necessary?"

I had plans to meet my girlfriend after work, but my shift ended unexpectedly early. "That's it! I'll wait for her at the ticket gate of the station nearest her workplace." On a day like that, the same thing happened to her--she had the same idea and ended up waiting for me at the ticket gate of the station I was supposed to use.

I sang about that bright, bittersweet feeling of missing each other by a hair's breadth--all because we were thinking of each other so much--without a hint of embarrassment.

Here was a melody line that could deliver such an obvious message straight to the heart, without any pretense. If this were just a speech without a melody, I could never bring myself to say something this embarrassing out loud!
