From Orchestra to Piano -French Modern Orchestral Works for Two Pianos and Four Hands

The second duo album by the internationally acclaimed Pascal Devoyon and Rikako Murata. This recording features piano-duo versions of orchestral masterpieces arranged by the composers themselves (Debussy: La Mer performed in four-hand version).

As we immerse ourselves in these works, we are once again filled with admiration for the way these composers, beyond the sheer beauty of musical form, possessed a profound understanding of how to make the piano truly resonate. They explore the instrument,s richest possibilities to the fullest extent. Like an orchestra, the piano - though a single instrument - holds the power to illuminate and elevate a work in its entirety. These composers were creators endowed with that remarkable gift.

You will therefore understand why we have chosen to dedicate this album to their own arrangements.
- P. Devoyon
