Out of Breath

NOTHING TO DECLARE

A drink and a half into another phase, a blind escape

A walk and a half out from where I saw the world lose its frame

What is this worth to a closing gate?

What have these words left to save?

What has a man who’s run out of breath left to say?

Tracing distance, away from where I was led astray

Who I’d been running from all this while wore my face

What is this worth to a closing gate?

What have these words left to save?

What has a man who’s run out of breath left to say?

What has a man who’s run out of breath left to say?

We hail to sing the words in the wishing well

Whatever remains when I’m a stranger to myself

A sleep and a half into another phase, a kind escape

A talk and a half into where I’ll watch the world regain its frame

But what is this worth to a closing gate?

What have these words left to save?

What has a man who’s run out of breath left to say?

What has a man who’s run out of breath left to save?

Well I guess I’ll find out then

    NOTHING TO DECLARE

Out of Breath marks the long-awaited return of NOTHING TO DECLARE, the first release from the project since 2020. The track signals the beginning of a bold new chapter for Mas Kimura's musical endeavor.

Entirely self-produced by Mas Kimura, Out of Breath was expertly mixed by Beau Burchell (founding member of Saosin and a highly sought-after producer and mixer whose work has helped shape the sound of modern post-hardcore and alternative rock, collaborating with artists such as Senses Fail, Hail the Sun, and The Bronx). The track was then masterfully mastered by Grammy-nominated, gold and platinum record-awarded mastering engineer Mike Kalajian (Rogue Planet Mastering), whose portfolio includes work with artists such as Bad Omens, Of Mice & Men, Memphis May Fire, Emarosa, and Hands Like Houses, ensuring a powerful, polished, and dynamic final sound.

With its cinematic intensity, and refined production, Out of Breath sets the tone for the next era of NOTHING TO DECLARE.
