Ka Cho Fu Getsu
A word that expresses the beautiful scenery and four seasons of Japanese nature.
The origin of the word dates back to the Muromachi period (14th-15th centuries), and the oldest document is written in the Nohgaku ethics book "Fushikaden" by Zeami (the founder of Nohgaku).
This work, consisting of four pieces of music, expresses the scenery of the four seasons in Japan and the maturity of the hearts of those who appreciate them.
Traditional Japanese music is elevated to a new world using Niigata's unique traditional performing arts instruments, such as the "Tarukinuta," Bandai Taiko (Japanese drums), and Tsugaru Shamisen.
Every autumn, at the "Niigata So Odori" festival, "dancers" dressed in beautiful costumes fill the streets and dance.
