westman8 is the solo project of Yohei Nishi, member of the Fukuoka-based pop band balconny and an accomplished songwriter. Focusing on AI-human co-created pop music, he made headlines in February 2025 by releasing three consecutive mini albums. His track "Gift" from the City Pop vol.1 was selected for KBC MUSIC SPLASH March Heavy Rotation, a rare honor for an independent artist. His YouTube channel Balcony TV has also grown rapidly, surpassing 93k subscribers by October 2025.
His latest release, the 5th EP "Z-Dance Paradox," includes three tracks: "Zig Zag"and"NEW DANCE" and "PARADOX" With stylish sound and infectious rhythms, the EP goes beyond dance music, weaving lyrics that depict youth resisting a chaotic society. Strongly resonating with short-video culture, the songs have achieved an impressive 15% approval rate on YouTube Shorts.

Yohei Nishi, a Fukuoka-based bandman/music composer, is a talented musician who has produced numerous songs and provided songs to other artists. He is a former member of the happy rock band Black1Neck, which debuted as the number one band in Fukuoka, and is currently a member of the pop band Balconny, where he plays bass and writes most of the songs. In 2025, under the solo name Westman8, he began full-scale music production and distribution using AI. His high-quality pop music, which combines nostalgia and newness, has been highly praised by industry insiders. As Balconny's band activities have been scaled down since the COVID-19 pandemic, his multifaceted activities have attracted attention as the individual members' activities have expanded. He is also deeply involved in the local community, having served as a goodwill ambassador for a certain city for six years, and is active as a radio personality.
