Born in Japan and raised in different parts of the world, including the United States and Cambodia, hip-hop artist Kingo has developed a distinct creative voice shaped by his multicultural upbringing. Blending this unique sensibility with lyrics written in both Japanese and English, he continues to pursue a style of expression entirely his own.

Arriving nearly three years after his previous EP, Kingo's second EP, "cheqpoint.", is a six-track project that captures where he stands today as he navigates new environments and changes in his life, while continuing to confront and pursue his own ideals. As its title suggests, the project serves as a "checkpoint" - a moment to look back on the path he has taken, reflect on where he is now, and prepare to move forward.

Rooted in club music while embracing a diverse range of sonic approaches, the EP takes on different colors through sessions with multiple artists and trackmakers. From competition and restlessness to his admiration for music, the conflicts that come with pursuing it, and his determination to keep moving forward, Kingo channels his real-life experiences into his lyrics.
