    kakiku Ambient in Motion An artist statement by Soji Kakizawa and Gugigudy We are kakiku an ambient music duo formed by Soji Kakizawa and Gugigudy Our collaboration was born out of a shared desire to explore ambient music beyond its traditional confines to create works that are textural immersive and emotionally resonant while still leaving space for playfulness and surprise Rooted in the spirit of serious play we embrace the beauty of contradiction light and shadow depth and simplicity stillness and humor We aim to challenge the stiff image often associated with ambient and new age music by introducing storytelling visuals and a sense of fun into our soundscapes Our creative method is organic and intuitive Kakizawa lays the foundation with synthesizers and field recordings while Gugigudy brings in guitar percussion and an instinct for rhythm that adds warmth and movement kakiku is not just about sound it is about crafting a space where anyone regardless of background can experience ambient music as something alive inviting and joyfully offbeat
