Yojiro Ando's eighth album, "haru," features music created over a period of approximately one year and five months, from October 2024 to February 2026. Niigata, where he resides, is a region where the four seasons change dramatically. The tracks he has produced to date reflect his impressions of the cherry blossoms and lingering snow in spring, the clear blue of the Sea of Japan in summer, the autumn leaves, and the fantastical snowscapes of winter. His desire to release an album for each season was the driving force behind the creation of this album. The album kicks off with "haru (spring)," and the 12 tracks express the cherry blossoms along the Kaji River in Shibata, the lingering snow on the mountains, and the arrival of spring felt in everyday life. His genre-bending sound, encompassing classical piano, hip-hop, downtempo, and house, will lead listeners into spring.
Yojiro Ando is a trackmaker based in Shibata City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. He studied classical piano from the age of 4 to 17, and later became engrossed in club music. He began producing tracks at the age of 22, and in 2016 released his first album, "Cube Day Love," centered on electronica, under his former name (Yojiro Chiba). Following that, in 2018 he released "Keshiki," an album centered on instrumental hip-hop. In 2019, he performed at "experimental rooms," a cutting-edge music event in Niigata, and shared the stage with artists such as CFCF, who came from Canada. To date, he has released a total of eight albums. He handles everything from beatmaking to rapping and piano playing in his tracks, and his music is characterized by emotional melodies. All of his albums released to date have been self-produced (CD-R) and digitally distributed only. From 2023, he has been organizing BEAT FACTORY, a music event focusing on beatmakers and DJs in Niigata. He also continues to produce tracks, including providing songs for Sahnya, a singer-songwriter from Niigata.
