pd is set to release a new single titled 'Rainbow Flower' on September 9th. Having made a stunning debut with their previous first single 'Awkward,' they not only captured the hearts of fans in Japan but also gained a following in the UK and US regions. For this new release, PD once again handles the lyrics, composition, and jacket design. Following the previous release, the producer and mixer to watch, Bokushiro, continues to collaborate, ensuring a complete duo production. The recording and production were also carried out at PD's own home studio, achieving a quality that rivals professionals.
Similar to their previous work, PD focuses on their trademark quirkiness, nerdiness, and emotive style. They take elements of alternative rock and indie rock, infusing them with a hyper-pop digital arrangement. This results in a fresh artistic perspective and a new take on rock, blending nostalgic and contemporary sensations. Despite being Japanese, PD's distinct characteristic is their almost exclusive use of English lyrics.
Following the release on streaming platforms, PD plans to unveil the music video for the same track on their YouTube channel. Moreover, they have a subsequent release planned for the autumn, followed by an EP album. Collaborations with American artists are also in the pipeline, showcasing a global presence beyond their activities in Japan.
