The Wall Fresco is a mid tempo city pop track that portrays two students who find their own names drawn under a chalk umbrella on a block wall, and quietly agree to let the rain decide its fate.
A walled lane on the way home in May, a clumsy umbrella drawn in white soapstone at waist height, two names side by side beneath it, and the distant echo of a jet create a quiet after school scene where a feeling neither of them has spoken is written first by someone else.
Performed by the fictional AI singer Akemi, the song captures the emotions of adulthood hidden inside a young memory, where erasing the lines would become denial and keeping them would become confession, so she leaves the work of erasing to the rain.
Inspired by the late 1970s to early 1980s Japanese new music and city pop, the track reimagines that era lyrical subtlety through images of school lanes, suburban block walls, and the humid silence of a walk to the station.
From the wall to the station, their words grow fewer while their strides quietly fall into line.
Ten years later, after every rain, she still walks half a step toward the wall side, carrying in her body a habit that remembers what was never said.

A music project that reimagines the melancholic mood and nighttime glow of late 1970s to early 1980s Japanese City Pop and New Music through AI-assisted production and human direction. Akemi is a fictional singer with a backstory of being from Yamato City, Kanagawa, Japan. She sings of urban solitude, grown-up love, and bittersweet afterglow in a noir-tinged city pop sound. Lyrics, composition, vocals, and visuals are created using generative tools and curated through editing. This is an experimental project exploring the human warmth and nostalgia that can emerge from AI.
