OIL JIN 's 13-track debut full-length album, *ORIGIN*, is finally here.
It includes "I Wanna Be Your Judas," "Tapir Song," and "Daydream" -songs that have been performed live since the band's days under their former name, "RANCHIKIGAI." Additionally, "Love Song," "Working," and "Interface" -released as singles last year- are included here with bold new arrangements.
Featuring "Metamorphosis" with Matcha on vocals, "Sukura," where Tomato-chan's world explodes, and completely new tracks never before performed live such as "Disco Night" and "Theme From OILJIN," this album is a concentrated blend of the chaos and pop sensibility unique to OIL JIN. Guest musicians include Takeda Gandhi (from Zibaku) on synth for "NODOBOKO" and Koyama (from Hikaribunkai) on saxophone for "SCRA." Completed after approximately one year of production, this is a monumental work that traces the origins of OIL JIN, titled "ORIGIN".
Formed in Tokyo in 2023 as 'RANCHIKIGAI,' centered around Fumie (Vo, Gt) and Matcha Sango (Gt). They released their 1st EP, 'Outtakes,' in 2024, followed by their 2nd EP, 'Out of Outtakes.' In October, they held their first self-organized live event, 'Out of Parties,' on a pay-what-you-want basis. That same year, a video capturing their wild stage performance became a sensation, garnering over three million views worldwide. On April 1, 2025, the group abruptly changed its name from 'RANCHIKIGAI' to 'OILJIN.' They released the singles 'Love Song,' 'Labor,' and 'Interface' in quick succession from summer through fall that year. In October, Tomato-chan (Ba) officially joined the band. The following month, they held their self-organized event, 'Shiopandekichauyo,' at Shimokitazawa SPREAD. In July 2026, they released their 13-track debut album, 'ORIGIN.' Drawing on each member's individual background, their music moves across genres including garage, J-pop, post-punk, hardcore, dub, and psychedelia. Unbound by conventional rock band conventions, they redefine themselves as 'all of you in music.'
