Rapper Lil taro boy, who continues to carve out unexplored territory in the scene, has released his first full-length album, Terrible Transition.

Despite his straightforward and plain word choices, Lil taro boy has begun to assert a distinct presence through a linguistic sensibility that carries surprising depth. While he has previously released three EPs, this project marks the first full album in his career.

The album features 10 tracks, including the previously released Funeral. Rooted in his signature introspective lyricism, the project also radiates a sense of openness-an eagerness to step outward. Guest appearances include Each Eyes Country, $till.J.Cark, BBG Shady Jay, and ARKMADE, all bringing undeniable talent to the record.

Within the album's title Terrible Transition-a phrase that could even be interpreted as "terrible links" or "rough connections"-Lil taro boy intentionally weaves a series of fragmented, flashback-like moments into something cohesive and deliberate.

Artist Profile

  • Lil taro boy

Tokyo-based rapper Lil taro boy began creating music during the era when SoundCloud rappers were leaving a major mark on the scene, launching his career under the "Lil" moniker like many of his peers. His lyrics, while straightforward and easy to follow, are crafted with a sense of depth, staying rooted in everyday reality while remaining approachable. This balance has earned him resonance not only among hip-hop fans but also across a wider audience. He released his first EP Jikan Geijutsu in 2021, followed by To me in 2023 and Traveling in 2024. Since 2023, he has been hosting the Hip Hop / Bass Music party HOPES at Nakameguro Solfa.
