Lyric

Your Gentle Lie is a mid tempo city pop track that portrays a single reunion night between long distance lovers, told entirely within the walls of a dimly lit room.
Cold earrings set down on the table, ice ringing in an amber glass, freshly smoothed sheets, and a man who keeps glancing at the clock create an intimate scene where kindness and restraint begin to feel like a quiet disguise.

Performed by the fictional AI singer Akemi, the song captures the emotions of adulthood that accepts tenderness without being ruled by it, seeing through a gentle lie and choosing, just for tonight, to undo it herself.
Inspired by the late 1970s to early 1980s Japanese new music and city pop, the track reimagines that era urban lyricism through images of late night rooms, spinning records, and the warmth of a love kept apart by distance.

While he is still searching for words, she unfastens a single button of his shirt with her own hand.
Knowing the night is short, she lets the needle fall and holds on until the ice has melted and morning arrives.
