This release marks Studio M's first-ever Chopin release.
Born in Poland in 1810 and later active in France, Frédéric Chopin was a composer known as the Poet of the Piano, leaving behind many timeless masterpieces. This work, composed and published in 1847, is also a jewel-like piano miniature written during the turbulent final years of his life. It was a period of major emotional transition for Chopin, and in this waltz, one can hear not so much brilliance or splendor as a deeply reflective and mature poetic spirit.
For this release, we present this beloved piece not with the piano, but using a harpsichord sound source, bringing out its unique sense of solitude and wistful melancholy.
