Name: SAN DAVID A Tokyo-based music creator, beatmaker, DJ, etc. Born in Kyushu to a painter father and a music therapist/piano teacher mother. Started classical piano at the age of three and discovered the guitar at twelve. At thirteen, he made his indie debut as the guitarist of the heavy metal/rock band "SHADOW" and self-taught himself bass, drums, and arranging. At seventeen, he went to the United States and was baptized in hip-hop. After returning to Japan, he was a central member of a mixture rock band based in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. However, he broke his right thumb during a high school physical education class, causing it to bend and lose the ability to hold a pick. Combined with the fact that he had previously lost the use of his left index finger, he retired as a guitarist and devoted himself to being a beatmaker. In 2006, he enrolled in the Recording & Production Department at ESP/MI JAPAN Music College and graduated the following year. In the spring of 2007, he moved to Tokyo and opened his private studio, STUDIO GOLD, in Shibuya. In 2013, he studied engineering under C-Murder at 813STUDIO, led by DJ YUTAKA. He has been involved in recording and producing for hip-hop, R&B, and reggae artists such as rapper Rinyuudou, RICE a.k.a. AB-NICE, Krush Matic (NYC), ISSEI, and R&B singer HI-D. Since 2012, he has been regularly releasing solo albums/EPs as an EDM and dubstep creator. In 2015, he was in charge of music production for groups such as Oyuugigumi under ASOBIMUSIC. He was featured in the March 2017 issue of Sound & Recording Magazine's "Japanese Beatmaker Special Feature." In recent years, he has provided tracks for rapper Rinyuudou's albums, such as "Ring" on the album "Hikari" and "Shinme" on the album "Asa ga Michiru." He has also been involved in the arrangement of VOYZBOY's "Spark." The lyrics for the song were written by Tanaka, formerly of Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi, and Masaya Wada, who has worked on songs for BTS and LDH-affiliated artists, which garnered attention. He also produces and provides background music for fashion shows, events, YouTube, and magazine media.
