MEMO TAPES

Memo Tapes is the first solo EP by Japanese singer and guitarist Koichiro Toyoda, who has been active across various projects in Japan.
Entirely instrumental, the record captures improvised guitar performances that are melodic yet delicately ephemeral in tone.

At its core lies a dialogue within the self.
Through quiet reflection on his upbringing and nature, Toyoda transforms the question "Who am I, truly?" into sound - using only his guitar, loops, and subtle effects.
Each piece weaves fragments of emotion and memory into a gentle resonance that lingers deep within the listener.

All tracks were recorded in 432Hz tuning, a frequency closely aligned with the natural harmonic structure of sound.
This tuning lends the music a softer, more organic tone, producing a calm resonance that flows naturally with human breath and emotion.
